Rafael Leao Expresses Strong Interest in Premier League Move Amid Manchester United Links
Rafael Leao has revealed his ambition to leave AC Milan and compete in the Premier League, highlighting Manchester United as a club he admires.
Rafael Leao has publicly stated his desire to seek a new challenge outside Serie A, explicitly expressing interest in moving to the Premier League next season. The AC Milan forward, who has been linked with Manchester United, confirmed that competing in England’s top flight would elevate his talents.
In a recent interview with SportTV, Leao said he closely follows the Premier League and would be eager to play there or in La Liga if given the opportunity. He mentioned Manchester United as a club he particularly admires, citing Cristiano Ronaldo as an idol, and also expressed interest in Arsenal. These comments intensify speculation over a potential summer transfer from Milan.
Leao’s openness adds pressure on AC Milan to consider offers if serious bids arise. However, his ongoing participation with Portugal in the upcoming World Cup means that concrete transfer talks will likely be on hold until the international tournament concludes. At the tournament, he could be reunited with Bruno Fernandes and Diogo Dalot, teammates who have previously praised Manchester United.
The 26-year-old has made 291 appearances for Milan, producing 80 goals and 65 assists, including a significant contribution in Serie A with 64 goals and 50 assists. His accolades with the Rossoneri include the 2022 Serie A title and the 2025 Italian Super Cup. Leao was also named the league’s Most Valuable Player following the 2021/2022 season, underscoring his impact in Italian football.
