Arne Slot Turns Down Immediate Return to Premier League with Fulham After Liverpool Exit
Less than a week after his Liverpool departure, Arne Slot has declined Fulham’s offer to become their new head coach, opting to await the right opportunity.
Arne Slot rejected an offer to take over as Fulham’s head coach shortly after being dismissed by Liverpool. The Dutch manager, who secured the Premier League title in his first season at Anfield, was relieved of his duties following a disappointing campaign in charge.
Fulham confirmed their current manager, Marco Silva, will leave after his contract expires. The club immediately sought to replace Silva and approached Slot, but the 47-year-old decided against rushing back into the Premier League, preferring to wait for an opportunity better suited to his ambitions.
Fulham’s search for a new manager has also focused on other candidates. Kieran McKenna, who recently led Ipswich Town back into the Premier League, remains a prime target, although acquiring him would require a significant compensation fee. Thomas Frank, formerly of Brentford and Tottenham, was also linked with the post but publicly declared he would not return to management before the summer.
Andoni Iraola, who impressed as Bournemouth’s manager, replaced Slot at Liverpool, signing a two-year deal. Meanwhile, Slot’s name has surfaced as a possible future candidate to lead the Netherlands national team, especially after the upcoming World Cup.
